1. Introduction
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the DODO Transport Pty Ltd (“DODO”, “we”, “our”, “us”) platform, including the Rider App, Driver App, website, and all related services.
By accessing or using the DODO platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
2. Definitions
- Platform — DODO’s mobile apps, website, systems, and technology.
- Rider — Any user requesting transportation services.
- Driver — Independent contractors providing services through the DODO platform.
- Services — Transportation services, and related services, facilitated by DODO.
- Account — Your registered profile used to access the platform.
- Vehicle — Any vehicle used by a Driver to provide services.
3. Eligibility
To use the platform, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old to hold a Rider account. Children under 18 may travel only with an adult Rider who books the trip.
- Be at least 21 years old (Drivers).
- Provide accurate registration information.
- Drivers must comply with all applicable Commonwealth, state and territory laws and regulatory requirements.
4. Your Obligations
You agree to:
- Use the platform lawfully and respectfully.
- Not engage in fraud, harassment, or unsafe behaviour.
- Maintain accurate account information.
- Follow all DODO policies, including safety, privacy, and conduct rules.
5. Platform Access
DODO grants you a limited, non‑exclusive, revocable licence to use the platform.
You must not:
- Copy, modify, or reverse engineer the app.
- Interfere with platform operations.
- Create multiple accounts without permission.
6. Fares and Fees
Rider fares are calculated by DODO and shown in the Rider app before you confirm a trip.
DODO's service fee for Drivers is 20% of the fare. It does not apply to tolls or tips. Drivers see their earnings for each trip in the Driver app.
If DODO changes its fares or fees, the change applies only to trips booked after it is shown in the app.
7. Payments
- When you request a ride, your card is authorised for the trip total shown, and it is charged when your trip ends. You will not be charged more than the trip total shown when you confirm (the fare plus any toll you chose).
- Routes are toll-free unless you choose toll roads. If you do, the toll quoted for your route is shown with your total before you confirm.
- Tips are optional, paid separately after your trip, and go to your Driver in full.
- DODO deducts its service fee from Driver earnings, as shown in the Driver app.
8. Cancellation and Refunds
Cancelling before your trip starts is free, and your card authorisation is released.
There is no charge if you are not at the pickup, and no charge for waiting time. Your Driver may cancel the booking if you do not arrive.
Once your Driver starts the trip, it cannot be cancelled in the app.
If DODO introduces cancellation or other fees, they will be shown in the app before you book and will apply only to bookings made after that.
If something went wrong with a trip, or you think you were charged incorrectly, call DODO on 0415 152 099. Where a refund is due, including under the Australian Consumer Law, we refund it to the card you paid with.
9. Safety
Users must comply with all safety requirements, including road rules, fatigue management and DODO's prohibited behaviour policies.
In an emergency, call Triple Zero (000) first, then tell DODO.
Drivers must not drive while fatigued and are responsible for taking rest breaks. The Driver app does not currently limit how long a Driver can stay online.
Drivers must accept passengers travelling with a guide, hearing or assistance dog, as the law requires.
10. Privacy
Your personal information is handled according to the DODO Privacy Policy. By using the platform, you consent to the collection of personal information needed to provide the services.
11. Prohibited Conduct
You must not:
- Commit fraud
- Harass Riders, Drivers, or staff
- Use the platform for illegal activity
- Manipulate GPS, payments, or identity
- Circumvent platform security
12. Suspension & Termination
DODO may suspend or terminate your account for Policy violations, Fraud, Safety risks, Repeated complaints, or Misuse of the platform. You may close your account at any time.
Before we permanently deactivate a Driver, we will give reasons and an opportunity to respond, except where immediate action is needed for safety, suspected fraud or dishonesty, or a missing licence or authorisation. Where the Fair Work Act's Digital Labour Platform Deactivation Code applies, we follow it.
13. Your Consumer Rights and Our Liability
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or changes any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Drivers are independent contractors who provide the transport. Each Driver is responsible for their own conduct and vehicle.
Subject to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law and other laws that cannot be excluded, DODO is not responsible for loss caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
14. Dispute Resolution
If you have a complaint, call DODO on 0415 152 099. We will try to resolve it through our internal complaint process and, where appropriate, mediation. You can also contact the Queensland Office of Fair Trading, and you keep your right to take the matter to a court or tribunal.
15. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to our services or the law. We will publish the updated Terms with a new date and tell you in the app or on the website before a significant change takes effect. Changes do not apply to trips already booked.
16–17. Governing Law & Acceptance
These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. By using the DODO platform, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
