Victoria (VIC) - Driver Requirements
- Have a smartphone, mobile number and email address
- Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident or otherwise have the right to work in Australia
- Have held an unrestricted Australian driver licence for at least 6 months
- Have an ABN and be GST-registered
- Hold a current Driver Accreditation
- Be listed as the insured driver on the insurance
Vehicle Requirements in VIC
Vehicles must meet the state government's requirements and must be in great condition, free of any damage and decals. The vehicle must:
- be no more than 10 years
- have a minimum of 4 doors
- seat a minimum of 4 passengers
- seat a maximum of 6 passengers
- RWC accepted. Exemption for new vehicle within 12 months
- be covered under a current third-party or comprehensive insurance
- be registered as a Commercial Passenger Vehicle in Victoria
New South Wales (NSW) - Driver Requirements
- Have a smartphone, mobile number and email address
- Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident or otherwise have the right to work in Australia
- Have held an unrestricted Australian driver licence for at least 12 months
- Have an ABN and be GST-registered
- Have not had any serious criminal offences
- Have not had any serious traffic offences
- Be listed as the insured driver on the insurance
Vehicle Requirements in NSW
Vehicles must meet the state government's requirements and must be in great condition, free of any damage and decals. The vehicle must:
- be no more than 10 years
- have a minimum of 4 doors
- seat a minimum of 4 passengers
- seat a maximum of 6 passengers
- not be an ex-taxi
- pass a pink slip vehicle inspection in the last 12 months. *Exempt for new vehicle registered in 12 months
- be registered in NSW and covered by the NSW CTP insurance
- be covered under a current third-party or comprehensive insurance
Queensland (QLD) - Driver Requirements
- Have a smartphone, mobile number and email address
- Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident or otherwise have the right to work in Australia
- Have held an unrestricted Australian driver licence for at least 12 months
- Have an ABN and be GST-registered
- Hold a Driver Authority of Type BHTX, TAXI or LIMO
- Be listed as the insured driver on the insurance
- Complete the mandatory driver training
Vehicle Requirements in QLD
Vehicles must meet the state government's requirements and must be in great condition, free of any damage and decals. The vehicle must:
- be no more than 10 years
- have a minimum of 4 doors
- seat a minimum of 4 passengers
- seat a maximum of 6 passengers
- not be an ex-taxi
- pass an inspection in the past 12 months
- *Exempt for new vehicle registered within 12 months
- be covered by a third-party or comprehensive insurance
- hold a Booked Hired Service Licence (BHSL)
Western Australia (WA) - Driver Requirements
- Have a smartphone, mobile number and email address
- Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident or otherwise have the right to work in Australia
- Have held an unrestricted Australian driver licence for at least 12 months
- Have an ABN and be GST-registered
- Hold a current Passenger Transport Driver Authorisation (PTD-A)
- Be listed as the insured driver on the insurance
Vehicle Requirements in WA
Vehicles must meet the state government's requirements and must be in great condition, free of any damage and decals. The vehicle must:
- be no more than 10 years
- have a minimum of 4 doors
- seat a minimum of 4 passengers
- seat a maximum of 6 passengers
- not be an ex-taxi
- be registered in WA and covered by 3F Motor Injury Insurance (MII)
- be covered under a current third-party or comprehensive insurance
- be registered for Passenger Transport Vehicle Authorisation (PTV-A)
South Australia (SA) - Driver Requirements
- Have a smartphone, mobile number and email address
- Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident or otherwise have the right to work in Australia
- Have held an unrestricted Australian driver licence for at least 12 months
- Have an ABN and be GST-registered
- Hold a current Driver Accreditation
- Hold a valid Operator Accreditation
- Be listed as the insured driver on the insurance
Vehicle Requirements in SA
Vehicles must meet the state government's requirements and must be in great condition, free of any damage and decals. The vehicle must:
- be no more than 8 years
- have a minimum of 4 doors
- seat a minimum of 4 passengers
- seat a maximum of 6 passengers
- not be an ex-taxi
- pass a vehicle inspection in the past 12 months
- be covered under a current Upgraded CTP insurance (class: 48, 98, 7, 58)
- be covered under a current third-party or comprehensive insurance
