Who can request deletion
Anyone who holds an account in the DODO Driver app or the DODO Rider app, operated by DODO TRANSPORT PTY LTD, can ask us to delete their account and the personal information linked to it. If you have both a Driver and a Rider account, you can ask us to delete either one or both.
For your security, we act only on a request from the account holder. We'll check that the request comes from you before anything is deleted.
How to request account deletion
- Online: fill in the account deletion request form on this page. Choose your account type, enter the email address registered to your DODO account, tick the confirmation box and tap Request account deletion.
- In the app: sign in, then tap Delete Account.
- DODO Rider: Account → Delete Account.
- DODO Driver: Profile → App Settings → Delete Account.
- By phone: call DODO on 0415 152 099 and tell us you want your account deleted.
Uninstalling the app does not delete your account.
What personal information may be deleted
Once your request is verified and anything outstanding is resolved, we delete or de-identify the personal information we no longer need. Depending on your account, this includes:
- your account profile: name, email address, mobile number, profile photo, preferences and sign-in access;
- saved places and app settings;
- your device's notification token;
- Drivers: uploaded documents and photos, and vehicle details, once we no longer have to keep them;
- Riders: the link to your saved card. Card details are held by our payment provider, Stripe; DODO never receives your full card number.
After deletion you can no longer sign in to that account, and you would need to create a new account to use DODO again.
What information may be kept
A deletion request does not override a legal duty to keep records. We keep only the records we must keep, only for the required period, and then delete or de-identify them. As set out in our Privacy Policy (sections 21–23):
- Booking and trip records: at least 2 years after the trip, as Queensland passenger transport law requires.
- Payment and financial records (fares, tolls, tips, refunds, service fees, Driver earnings and payouts): 7 years after the transaction, as the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) requires for financial records. This also covers tax record-keeping periods.
- Driver records (name, driver authorisation number and the dates the Driver started and stopped driving with DODO): at least 2 years after the Driver stops driving with DODO, as Queensland passenger transport law requires.
- Privacy complaints: 2 years after the complaint is closed.
- Fraud prevention, safety and disputes: information about an unresolved dispute, complaint, safety incident, fraud investigation or unpaid amount, until it is resolved and for any period the law then requires.
Our payment provider, Stripe, keeps its own records under its legal obligations. Kept records are protected and are used only for these purposes.
How deletion requests are processed
- We receive your request. Online, you'll see a reference number. Making a request does not delete anything by itself.
- We verify your identity. If you asked from inside the app while signed in, your request already comes from your account. Otherwise, DODO Support contacts you using the details already held in your DODO account, and asks you to confirm the request. Until then we won't confirm whether an account exists for the details given.
- We check for anything outstanding, such as an active or scheduled trip, an unpaid fare, a pending refund or Driver payout, or an open dispute or safety matter, and resolve it with you first.
- We delete or de-identify the personal information we no longer need, and keep only the records described above.
Requests are handled by authorised DODO staff. We'll tell you if we need more information from you or if something means we can't complete the request yet.
How DODO contacts you: only as DODO Support, through the support chat in the DODO app, by phone from DODO, or by email from an @dodotransport.com.au address. We never contact you from a personal email address. If you're unsure whether a message is from DODO, call 0415 152 099.
How you receive confirmation
When your request has been processed, DODO Support will confirm it to you through one of the channels above, using the details in your account. The confirmation explains what was deleted or de-identified, and which records we have to keep, why and for how long.
The message you see after sending the form confirms only that we've received your request. It does not mean your account has been deleted.
What we never ask for
DODO will never ask for your password, a one-time sign-in code, your card number or a copy of an identity document to process a deletion request, on this page, by email or by phone. If someone asks you for these, don't share them, and call DODO on 0415 152 099.
